SGI Technological Convention 2007

During the 2 days that the convention lasted, IDC and Silicon Graphics experts informed about the server market tendencies and the new SGI solutions. As a SGI partner and as the XenSource Official Solution Provider in Spain, Open Sistemas took part in Barcelona with a talk on Xen virtualization ("Virtualización con Xen: optimizando rendimientos"). During this talk it was announced the recent Altix XE machine certification on a Citrix Xen Server Enterprise Edition commercial platform (that had previously been known as XenEnterprise4, from XenSource). This is the first time that a SGI machine has been included in the XenSource compatibility list at an international level.
For the convention in Madrid, Open Sistemas invited Luis Sevilla who is the person in charge of the gvSIG Project development (Conselleria de Infraestructuras y Transporte de la Generalitat Valenciana). He exposed the experiences he had had with the Space Data Infrastructures (IDE) that are included in the open source geographic information system in which Open Sistemas has collaborated.
