Vademécum Online
Customer:
Vademécum is an Internet platform used for MSD drugs and products registering, searching and classification.
For some specialized contents such as Vedemécum systems,handbooks, books etc, it can be very interesting the application of content managing concepts.
MSD needed to incorporate information of their products into a Vademécum system. This information had to be handy so that the contents and the language could be changed.
According to this, an Online Vademécum architecture was developed based on free software:
The openCMS content manager on the Apache Webserver platform.
Th e Java application server Jakarta Tomcat.
LDAP openLDAP server.
The Data Base managing system called MySQL.
The whole application was integrated in the health specialized website called Univadis.net, not only as an access but also as a porlet that the system can imort periodically.
A Banner Manager was included so that specific advertising, dependingon the visitor’s specialty, could be shown. It was also included a navigation control system which could identify and follow the areas visited by each visitor creating a detailed profile of the web page users.
With this system, MSD obtains a simple and handy application that can be used to improve their services and collect very useful information about their clients.
