Customer: Atersa
Atersa needed a mail and an advanced groupware system:
For multiple mail domains administration
Distribution list management
Fax and SMS through e-mail sending.
User’s quotes management
Anti-spam filters
Net antivirus
Edition of the domain appearance through the internet
Several ways of accessing the e-mail: Webmail, POP/IMAP
Integration with the corporative LDAP user’s directory
Shared notebooks between users
Automated backup system
All these elements had to be administrated through the internet.
Solution
The following tools were integrated in the new system which was based on OpenCorreo:
A Web platform for SMS sending. The platform is adapted to the LDAP directory.
A tool replication system is incorporated from a standard Webmail. A image editor for each domain is also developed.
A SMS and FAX sending platform is developed through the web. It is integrated with the LDAP directory and several free software tools for SMS and FAX sending.
Shared notebooks are developed and integrated with the LDAP.
Conclusions
The customer got the maximum personalization by using free software systems.
Most of the free software elements used had already been developed. Thus, the costs of the project were small.
The customer can update the system without making a big integration effort.
