Virtualization is a different way of managing the resources. Thanks to this technique it is possible to execute several virtual machines on the same server by a hardware and software combination which can obtain new and independent resources.
Virtualization increases the distribution flexibility of the computer capability. To do this, it uses environments which simulate inexistent hardware.
Each new virtual machine created has its own set of independent hardware resources and its own operating system. With the virtualization software it is possible to plan the execution of each of this virtual machines and their combined access to the real hardware resources that are available.
Virtualization offers several advantages:

Nowadays, this technique is becoming more and more important due to the development of new virtualization platforms and technologies, and to the decrease of its costs.
