An analysis of the environment to be migrated is performed, both from a technical and functional point of view. The key elements of the system are identified, specially considering compatibility issues with the cloud environment. The design of the new environment is proposed, translating the initial functionalities to be migrated to the capabilities and technologies that the cloud offers, taking advantage of the migration process itself to perform version updates, security adjustments or open source migration whenever possible. Once the design is finished and the final project plan is created, diferent phases are performed under a POC approach so that changes can be tested and validated. Within the design advanced elements of connectivity and security are considered, such as vpn or routing solutions. Finally, a process of putting into production in a progressive way is launched and a plan of support and maintenance is proposed to provide continuity and stability to the new environment.
The result of the project is a new infrastructure for the customer that takes advantage of the features of the cloud, such as exibility and scalability of systems, which usually result in significant cost savings. The process of change itself facilitates the updating and renewal of the environment, eliminating obsolete software and improving various aspects of security and control, together with greater documentation and knowledge of the environment that leads to improved management.
